Google Analytics appears to be displaying some Google Discover visits, most likely from the Google News Showcase. If you look at your acquisition, source, and medium traffic, you could see [newsshowcase / discover] in the list. Vishal Marathe, from what I can understand, was the first to notice this and tweet about it:
Valentin Pletzer and Glenn Gabe dived deeper and determined that this was most likely due to the Google News Showcase product. “Looks like Google News showcase does attach utm-parameters to the URLs,” Valentin remarked. Glenn Gabe elaborated “Yes, I’m seeing it as well, beginning on Thursday, July 29. And when you dimension by nation, it’s from places where Google News Showcase is available.”
